CONTACT of Burlington County provides 24 Hour Crisis Intervention to residents of Burlington County. In addition the agency offers a comprehensive information and referral service and specialized programs to help the elderly and homebound (Reassurance); a teen to teen confidential helpline (TeenLine); and serves victims of sexual assault through the Sexual Assault Program. All volunteers must complete a 50 hour training course that includes active listening training and information regarding mental health issues.
Helpline: Provides immediate 24-hour access to active listening and crisis intervention to anyone in need of guidance, emotional support or emergency help.
Information and Referral: Provides 24-hour telephone access to information and/or referrals in the community.
Reassurance: Provides a daily phone call to verify the well-being of an elderly shut-in or handicapped person living alone and/or homebound.
TeenLine: A peer counseling line for teenagers. 856-234-0634
KidsLine: A "warmline" for elementary school children.
Sexual Assault: Provides services to victims of sexual abuse and rape including hospital and/or legal accompaniments.
PetFriends: A compassionate telephone support service for pet owners in grief.
