If you're not into the traditional western, explore the galaxy with Spike Spiegel and crew! This 1998 animated series was created by Sunrise, the same studio that made Sgt. Frog and Escaflowne. It follows the adventures of a pair of bounty hunters, Spike and his partner Jet Black, as they rocket through space in a ship named Bebop.
Over the course of 26 episodes, the series explored philosophical concepts including existentialism and loneliness alongside action-packed sequences and a jazz-inspired soundtrack. The anime even inspired portions of Joss Whedon's Firefly series and the SyFy Channel's remake of Battlestar Galactica. If you're sick of Tombstone and the Man with No Name, blast off with Cowboy Bebop!
