Building fairy houses is a beloved tradition in coastal New England, popularized by Tracy Kane's award-winning picture book series. Earlier this summer, the Evesham Library invited young readers outside to build their own fairy houses from natural materials like leaves, bark, grass and stones.

Making a fairy house is easy! Be sure to only use items you can find in nature and don’t disturb any creatures who might be living near where you are building. Each season provides its own unique materials—try making a fairy sandcastle decorated with seashells, or use flowers and berries to add color to your home!
