Friday, May 5 marks the much-anticipated theatrical release of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Bestselling author Tom Angleberger of The Strange Case of Origami Yoda fame has recently written two juvenile novels featuring hilarious, lesser-known adventures of Guardians Rocket Raccoon and Groot (as well as Veronica, the galaxy’s most dangerous tape dispenser. Naturally.) Rocket and Groot: Stranded on Planet Strip Mall and Rocket and Groot: Keep on Truckin' are designed to appeal to the Captain Underpants and Diary of a Wimpy Kid set, but this proposed trilogy can also be enjoyed by older fans who’ve remained young-at-heart.
The BCLS has all of your Guardians of the Galaxy needs covered this spring, from easy fiction picture books, to adult graphic novels, to a screening of the blockbuster first film at the Pinelands location on Wednesday, May 3 at 5:30pm. So grab your library card, hop in the ol’ family spaceship, and make your way to your favorite location. Just watch out for space piranhas!
