J.A. White, author of the acclaimed middle grade, fantasy series The Thickety, is visiting BCLS! Join the author when he appears at the Evesham and Cinnaminson libraries to discuss how to write a scary story and read from his latest novel, Nightbooks, which recently earned a Starred Review in the School Library Journal. His work has often been compared to that of Neil Gaiman and his novels are perfect for the Halloween season!
Scheduled for Tuesday, October 16 at 7pm, Cinnaminson’s event will include a scavenger hunt and crafts, as well as a free hardcover copy of Nightbooks provided by the Friends of the Cinnaminson Library for each attendee.
Evesham’s event on Monday, October 22 will begin at 6 pm with a spooky-themed scavenger hunt, crafts and snacks followed by the author’s 7 pm presentation. Attendees can also enter to win signed copies of The Thickety series or Nightbooks provided by the Friends of the Evesham Library.
White will sign books after both events. Due to story elements that may be too spooky for young readers, both of the author’s presentations are recommended for ages 8 and up, however, younger siblings are welcome to participate in the scavenger hunt, crafts and snack time.
Don't miss this unique opportunity for the whole family to meet an acclaimed author, jump into the Halloween spirit and have some fun!
"Fans of gloomy fare such as Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, Adam Gidwitz's Grimm books or Neil Gaiman's Coraline will find an equally twisting and terrifying tale here. An excellent addition to any middle grade collection." - School Library Journal Starred Review
