Dreary and grim, HBO’s newest crime drama Mare of Easttown has been dominating the water (“wudder”) cooler talk lately. The show, set in a fictionalized suburb of Philadelphia, follows an overworked and traumatized police detective named Mare Sheehan as she investigates the death of a local teen. Mare uncovers way more than she expects and the Emmy-nominated series certainly delivers on the drama.
