Our reference staff provides free proctoring services as a courtesy to assist students in the completion of their educational degree requirements. Proctoring guidelines are as follows:
-
Exams can be received through email, the US Postal Service, FedEx and UPS.
Proctors can return completed exams by US Postal Service or by other ground delivery services if a prepaid envelope is provided by the school and the envelope can be picked up at the library by the delivery service. - Students who request a proctor either by phone or walk-in will be contacted by phone, in a timely manner, by the librarian who has agreed to become their proctor.
- Students may have only one proctor at a time.
- After a librarian has contacted the student, the student must bring or fax to the proctor a Proctor Request Form or any necessary forms issued to the student by the school. Students are responsible for mailing/faxing the completed request forms to the school.
- It is the student’s responsibility to know exam deadlines and to contact the proctor to schedule their exam(s). Students must call ahead to reserve a private study room for the exam because space is limited.
- Exams can only be scheduled in conjunction with the proctor’s availability during library business hours.
- Student must bring photo ID on the test date to confirm identity.
- Any postage fees required for returning the exams are to be paid by the student at a cost of $1.00 per test.
- The Library is not responsible for the content of exams that are emailed to the proctor, nor for completed tests once they have been mailed.
- Once a proctor is assigned to a student, that assignment will end six months after the last proctored exam. Student may arrange ahead of time for an extension.
The Reference Staff has the right to refer students who cannot comply with the above guidelines to other proctoring services.
