Have you finally found the perfect used bike for sale online but feel uneasy about meeting up to complete the transaction? Ready to upload a photo of that dresser you don’t need anymore, but concerned about selling it to a stranger. We have good news! The Cinnaminson Police Department has established an Internet Purchase Safe Exchange Zone for just that purpose. Two parking spaces outside the Cinnaminson Police Department at 900 Manor Road (right next to the Cinnaminson Branch Library) are clearly marked, outlined in high-visibility paint, and monitored by video cameras 24/7. Participants can now complete sales or purchases initiated though sites such as Craigslist or eBay with peace of mind.

The police department recommends conducting transactions Monday through Friday during regular business hours if possible. If not, transactions should be conducted during daylight hours for best video quality. Please be aware: officers will not participate in transactions, act as witnesses, or provide legal advice.

Remember, as the popularity of online sales has increased, so have the opportunities for criminal behavior. Cinnaminson joins a growing national trend of municipalities providing safe spots for completing online transactions. SafeTrade Stations provides a list of Safe Exchange Zones nationwide.
