Break out the flashlights and hide under your covers, it’s All Hallows Read! Throughout the month of October, we share our favorite stories. Some are scary, some are funny and others are creepy classics! There will be stories for children, teens and adults to listen to at home while munching candy and carving pumpkins. This is our sixth Halloween-themed celebration of literacy and you can explore more than 30 stories read by our librarians! Follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to see this year's tales and share your favorites with friends.
This celebration of sharing books was started by author Neil Gaiman back in 2010.
Initially, he proposed the start of a new tradition...book giving on Halloween!
As the library loans free books all year long,
we looked for a way to put our own spin on Gaiman's concept
and decided to ask library staff to read their favorite scary stories!
