The Burlington County Library System is so lucky to have a team with wide-ranging knowledge and diverse interests. While many customers may know the names and faces of librarians at their local branch, we want to take the time to introduce more of our staff from around the system.
Hey there! My name is Katheryn Woodworth and I'm one of the Adult Services Librarians at Evesham Library. I completed my Master’s Degree in Library Science from Clarion University in 2006 and began working for BCLS a few months later.
As well as providing reference assistance every day, some of my responsibilities include teaching computer classes and providing tech training for the public and sometimes for staff, arranging programs for our adult community, scheduling public displays, and managing the Borrow-a-Book Club service. One of the most gratifying things about my job is seeing the spark of delighted comprehension in the eyes of my adult computer students.
Some fun facts about me:
-
Librarian was not my first career. My undergrad degree was in Theatre Design and Production from Stockton and I worked as the assistant master electrician for the Delaware Theatre Company for a few years.
- I love craft beer and I home brew in my kitchen with friends. New Jersey has some great breweries to explore!
- I sail with the Gossamer Penguin crew on the Delaware River every Wednesday evening during Riverton’s race season.
- I love to play games and some of my favorites are 7th Sea (did the Kickstarter for 2nd edition!), Pathfinder, World of Warcraft, Stardew Valley, Mysterium, Betrayal at House on the Hill, Team Fortress 2 and Minecraft.
- My brain was set to “nerd” at a very young age beginning with classic Doctor Who, Star Blazers and Godzilla monster movies and I continue to consume heaps of science fiction, fantasy, anime, manga, and graphic novels in my 40s.
- My favorite band is still The Cure.
