Did you participate in this year’s Virtual Summer Reading Program? Going virtual was an adjustment for library staff and customers since we are all used to a summer filled with themed activities and non-stop celebrations of reading. A variety of virtual system-wide events brought our beloved summer presenters to your home through Zoom! A big thank you goes to the Friends of the Burlington County Library, Inc. who made the virtual events with presenters possible.
Even though there wasn’t the usual hustle and bustle of summer at the library, a great time was had by all! More than 7,000 books were read, 350 activities completed, and 270 books were reviewed. Looks like many Burlington County residents had a great summer reading with us!
Just because Summer Reading is over, doesn’t mean the fun has to end. Library events are getting back on track at your favorite locations! Beanstack is also available to track reading and participate in other challenges throughout the year, like the Read Woke from Home Challenge and 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten.
Not ready for going back to the classroom? We hear you! Enjoy this selection of recommended books to squeeze in before summer is over.
