Each October, artists across the world challenge themselves with Inktober. Community created prompts give creators a starting point for their illustrations, done in ink on paper. This fall, BCLS staff are taking the challenge a step further and showcasing the artwork of local teens all month long.
The Summoning Ink Challenge is our take on the popular trend. We’ll share a post featuring BCLS staff artists and their interpretations of this week’s prompt every Monday morning on Instagram and Facebook. Watch to get some ideas on how you can interpret the week’s hashtag and submit your art via Facebook, Instagram or our website!
We’ll be sharing submissions from Burlington County teens, giving young local artists a platform to showcase their talents and get feedback from peers. We encourage participants to follow the same restrictions we put on our artists, meaning we ask that:
-
Submissions be from teens, ages 13-17 years old.
-
Drawings must be done in black and white.
-
All submissions be original art, not previously published or accepted for publication anywhere in print or online.
Post your art online, using the social media of your choice:
- Tag us on Instagram and/or Facebook
- Include the hashtag #SummoningInkChallenge
- If you don’t have social media, you can upload your art on our website
- By submitting art (and tagging it #SummoningInkChallenge), artists give BCLS the right to share their creations on library social platforms. Artists will retain ownership of their creation.
