Wharton State Forest consists of 110,017 acres with campsites available at Atsion, Godfrey Bridge, and Wilderness campsites. Cabins are also located on Atsion Lake. Activities include swimming, boating, hiking, horseback trails, fishing, hunting, and picnic facilities. Batsto Village, a nationally-recognized historic site, is located at the southern edge of the forest. Visitors can tour the grounds to learn more about 19th century life in southern New Jersey.
